Program Summary for Dexter
Based on Jeff Lindsay's novels Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter this crime thriller follows Dexter Morgan. Dexter is a forensic blood spatter expert for the Miami Dade Police Department. He is the main support for his sister. He has a steady girlfriend, with two kids who adore him. He also has an active "night life". Based on a code instilled in him by his foster father, Harry, he hunts down people who have escaped justice and makes sure they don't get away with a crime again.

Episode Summary:
As layers of who Dexter is and has become has been steadily built through four seasons of the show the very core person he thought he was has become more conflicted and confused. He has moved toward a degree of normalcy he never knew was within him. As he has discovered that Harry is severely flawed he has been less able to be who he thought he was. Now he has much to lose and he has to attempt to protect his family while eliminating "The Trinity Killer". It seems an almost impossible task in itself and he is losing so much of the control that earlier enabled him to live by "Harry's Code". Everything is coming to a nerve-racking critical mass. Just when you think he may be able to pull it off and fly under the radar "Trinity" makes a bold move that is so shocking that it could easily be a season finale! "Hello, Dexter Morgan" is both the episode name and the dreaded words spoken to Dexter by Trinity as the episode ends...In no less than Miami PD's headquarters. Can the tension get any greater and the stakes higher?

This episode, if not the best of the series, is at the top of the list. Everything over four seasons is coming to, as stated, a giant critical mass. If we were left to ponder this until next year it would leave the biggest unanswered question since "who shot JR?" Wow, what a situation! At this point I have to say that a huge audience will be ensured for the season finale next week. Series TV doesn't get any more tense than this...Great episode!
