Cougar Town focuses on newly divorced mom, Jules Cobb (Courteney Cox). Set in Florida in a small town, appropriately named Cougartown, where tons of divorcees prowl looking for younger men. After spending her 20's raising her son, a newly divorced, Jules tries to find the balance between having her 20's in her 40's, raising her son, dealing with her ex, running a business, and helping a host of other wonderful characters through their own trials. Encouraged into action by her best friend Ellie Torres (Christina Miller) and her garish assistant, Laurie Keller (Busy Phillips), Jules enters back into the dating scene only to struggle with her ideas (and societies) about how to behave when you are 40 and single. The single-camera comedy comes from Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and co-executive producer Courteney Cox. Cougar Town is produced by ABC Studios.
