Program Summary for Pussycat Dolls Presents
"Inside every woman is a Pussycat Doll." Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll, by PCD founder Robin Antin, is an eight-episode series, and the first season of the Pussycat Dolls Present, that will give one lucky winner the chance to become a member of hit burlesque troupe and musical group The Pussycat Dolls. Out of thousands of applicants, only nine girls were chosen. In the series, the contestants share a loft in Los Angeles and face multiple challenges, like learning dance routines with a man and designing an orginal PCD outfit, as well as testing their dancing abilities, vocal abilities, creativity, confidence, and ultimately allowing them to grow as both artists and people. With ex-Sugar Ray vocalist Mark McGrath as host and rapper Lil' Kim, PCD creator Robin Antin, and Chairman of Geffen Records Ron Fair, as judges, each week the girls face something different, learning a new lesson from the Pussycat Dolls and getting a visit with a member of the group. This is not a contest to find a "stripper," as the Dolls have been referred to before, but a real and serious dancer, as the six members of the Dolls are trained in various forms of dance. The winner will be added as the seventh member of the Grammy nominated girl group, as well as appear on the troupe's second album, "Double the Trouble," and head out on tour with them. The show premiered on March 6, 2007. In the second season, Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, a ten-episode series, Robin Antin resurfaces to launch a brand new girl group called Girlicious, and sets off to traverse the country to uncover the best girl talent to become a star.
