Episode Summary: | The series is basically going for the core of the foundation of the problems that are caused by the bond between Sean and Christian. This episode had some flashbacks of the start of their relationship throughout school and even then it is obvious that Christian manipulated Sean into some life that he is not ready for. This episode is written by Ryan Murphy himself, is really a great one that the character Dan Daly blew my mind literally. He is a symbol of our doctors' self destructing relationship. Even if he tries to compliment someone, he cursed the man without intending to do so. Sean breaking those 1500 dollars a piece marbel and that prize is very nice to watch.. |

Episode Summary: | It feels like they're really disbanding the Sean/Christian relationship with these final episodes. Sean making moves on Kimber could easily be interpreted as both an attempt to destroy their partnership, or as simply an attempt to just destroy Christian himself. Or to protect Kimber? Who knows exactly? While the Sean/Kimber coupling produced heat, it was annoying that the writers essentially had to make up reasoning for Kimber's interest in him. Christian has never been a slob, and I didn't buy that he'd suddenly become so uncaring about his appearance and his weight just because he's married. They could have easily scrapped that part of the storyline and had Kimber only falling into Sean's bed after growing tired of Christian's treatment of her. I'm guessing anybody with sense could predict that her picture-perfect ideal of marriage was quickly gonna sour. Christian still treats her like dirt, and if anything her infidelity is justifiable payback.
Both surgery cases didn't really work for me. The Willow Banks story was crazy formulaic, reminding me of a whole bunch of past episodes, Roxy St. James being the most recent. We have a patient requesting an unorthodox surgery, something McNamara/Troy refuse to do, so the patient flies off the deep end and does the surgery themselves with horrific results. Even the climatic "twist" to the story fell flat.
Elsewhere, the coma dude's subplot seemed to end abruptly, and I didn't really see any kind of connection between his trauma and Sean. I guess they were trying to say that Sean is pretty much in the exact same boat as Kenney, only he (unfortunately) hasn't been comatose for eighteen years. I don't know, too little time was spent on this to produce any kind of resonance. I did like Riki Lindhome, though, especially her line about "Obama and Britney".
Great direction this episode from Tim Hunter, memorably in the first two scenes. Really loved the editing between Kenney explaining his history and Sean waking up on the mattress, as well as the insanely awesome montage of Kimber getting ready for that interior decorator expo to the sounds of Are Friends Electric. Speaking of interior design, Kimber's redecoration of Christian's apartment was ridiculously hideous, but I thought Sean's vintage pad was pretty sweet. I guess her talent is schizophrenic that way.
Part of me likes the direction the season is taking, but I was underwhelmed by the patients and some of the more forced parts of this episode's script. Eh. Pretty average episode.

Episode Summary: | There was always something old-Hollywood about Kimber. From the Marilyn 'do, to her dreams of coming to the big city and becoming a star, she was like a retro wannabe starlet. Her slow, painful decline from the very first episode has been, at least in my opinion, one of the strongest character arcs Nip/Tuck has ever done. And while it's devastating, tragic and unbelievably dark, Kimber's apparent suicide does almost fit. Without fame, without a career, she clings on to whatever man would take her. And with her pinnacle of all men (Christian) as well as the sleazy runners-up in her life (Mike) both rejecting her, her desperation and all-round sadness only had one inevitable conclusion.
Of course, that's even assuming she's really dead. There must be a reason why the writers decided to keep her death an ambiguous mystery. I'm guessing visions of her will haunt Christian for a while, before we get some final resolution on what happened to her when the show finally wraps.
The rest of the episode was unrelentingly dark, but ridiculously awesome. Christian's detour into auto-erotic asphyxiation was crazy, and something you just knew was gonna end badly for him. And choking Kimber was hard to watch, especially when she was essentially being forced into doing it.
Christian's dumping of Kimber was harsh, but I actually agreed with Sean in that he did her a favor in the long run. Kimber does deserve somebody better, and Christian will never change. Even if Kimber is revealed to be alive, and Christian begs for her to come back and pledges to give up his sleazy ways, I don't think I'd necessarily buy it. So I'm hoping the writers aren't headed down that road. Unless, of course, seemingly losing Kimber forever and inadvertently driving her to suicide may be the driving factor in getting him to seek some kind of redemption.
Sean's desire to do something more important with his life and joining Doctors Without Borders has been a nagging dream he's been experiencing right back to the very first episode, so it's not altogether surprising that the writers are going in this direction for the final episodes. I think I mentioned it before that his "perfect existence" with Megan in Julia's alterna-reality did cast him as a pro-bono surgery dude working in Africa, so it'd make sense to see him pursuing that now.
Like the season six finale, this was another great directing job from Tate Donovan. Really loved the shot of Kimber sitting in the dark at Sean's place, as well as the moments on the boat. He has a real talent for this.
I knew of Kimber's suicide before the episode aired, but it didn't spoil my enjoyment. I think we can all agree that something major needed to happen to Kimber before she could ever have a chance of finding happiness. This is her rock bottom, and only time will tell to find out if it was fatal or not.

Episode Summary: | Wow, this is by far the worst episode yett. The monkey lady was really annoying and i hate how things never change with Christian. I mean seriously? Sleeping with your wife's mother? WTF This episode was really boring and i hate how this show is ending. The past 3 episodes were good but this one was horrible. The only good part was when the lady screwed Sean over in the end. That's all! The patient storyline, i had no sympathy for, at least Matt was back in this episode. Well i really think it's time this show ends, i honestly think the damage has already been done, i really wanted good storylines like the ones in Seasons 2&3 but i guess that's all in the past, this show feels like a soap opera you would watch on daytime television. I love this show to death but this episode was really bad :( |

Episode Summary: | Finally this season is becoming better! The whole episode actually went back to the roots of season 1, which really intrigued me. The whole storyline between Virginia Hayes was excellent!! I loved how the two actresses were portrayed and how she killed her in the end, PERFECT. When Escobar's daughter came back to haunt Sean and Christian's past, this actually helped bring them back together. I love how in the end they bury the lady and in the car there was a long silence with a song playing. Very touching, really made me love this episode more! I am excited about the next episode because it looks very revealing and CANT WAIT!!!

Episode Summary: | More so than any other episode in a long while, Dr Griffin was a real valentine to the fans of this show. Shocking, absorbing and painfully honest, this was Sean and Christian laid bare, feelings put out on the table and exposing exactly who they are as people.
It's a testament to Jennifer Salt's writing that a 40-minute episode almost entirely consisting of a bunch of people sitting around talking was ridiculously attention-grabbing. The dialogue here was insanely good ("I know where the bodies are buried"), while both Dylan Walsh and Julian McMahon put in some really wonderful performances. I'm always in awe of TV actors who are able to memorize so much dialogue with just a couple of days notice.
Both Sean and Christian's interpretations of one other made for compelling viewing. Sean's picture of his family was revealing (he's apart from them both mentally and physically), while I loved the dialogue where Sean was berating Christian for constantly being around him all the time, and choosing to live in an apartment with so few walls, as if he's worried that Sean will disappear if he can't see him at all hours. Elsewhere, the moment where Christian unveiled the word he'd use to describe Sean was flawless: "ALCOHOLIC". Sean's always been a victim of self-abuse: drinking, cutting himself a couple of seasons back. His constant back-and-forth over getting away from Christian this very season could also be an example of that. Then there are his doomed relationships and his repeated attempts to get back together with Julia.
Thinking about it, you can't really picture Sean on his own. While you could imagine Christian surviving as a lone ranger, out in the world by himself, Sean would just self-destruct without his 'brother'. He's always being manipulated by others. Maybe this is a fault of Christian's though; just look at the season premiere with the college flashbacks. I can't help but feel like Sean's gonna die in the end. This whole season has been setting him up for a bitter fall.
Liz's participation in therapy was really interesting, especially when describing her and the rest of the supporting cast as "elevator music" for Sean and Christian. They're both so consumed with each other, while everybody else just flows in and out of their lives, especially in recent seasons. Meanwhile, Liz's pregnancy came as a surprise, but I can't see why she would seek out Sean for sperm. While it would have been impossible for Christian to father the child since he had a vasectomy this season, I've never gotten the impression that Liz and Sean had as strong a relationship as she does with Christian, despite the recent craziness they went through. Still, it's great to see the writers re-visiting one of my favorite Liz storylines (her wanting a child) for the final run.
Matt's appearance frustrated me. While I support his decision to stay away from his dads, his complete dumping of responsibility for his numerous screw-ups onto his parents was another example of his complete immaturity, while he's done this same routine so many times before that you just know he's going to end up a mess again. Poor Ramona, getting suckered into this dude. But, if he has told her the whole truth of his life so far, she must be kinda moronic to voluntarily shack up with a sister-screwin', self-circumcisin', meth-smokin', tranny-schtuppin', mime-robbin' ex-con. Matt needs to die. Period.
One of the most adult, interesting and absorbing episodes in the history of Nip/Tuck, Dr Griffin moved me like few episodes have done. It was almost unfortunate when something crazy happened and we got crazy women shooting people in their faces. I know this episode has been pretty polarizing, but for me it was something necessary for both the show and the characters, especially so close to the end.

Episode Summary: | Parts of this episode were like a low-rent version of the Julia McNamara episode, which still ranks (to me, at least) as the best ever episode of this show. Christian's dreams were visually intriguing, but outside of the Kimber moments, they didn't carry a huge amount of weight.
Kimber's re-appearance really felt like a bon voyage for her. I had seen the pap pictures of Julian and Kelly filming on the beach, and they were wrongly presumed to be from the finale. I really hope Kimber does show up in the end, as it'd feel wrong if all six regulars didn't have at least some part to play in the final hour. Still, Kimber's goodbye was great. Her transformation into Joan Rivers was especially interesting, maybe Christian's idea of how she would have ended up if she hadn't died?
Of the rest of the dream sequences, I liked the editing during Christian's consult (and the role reversal of the "When you stop striving for perfection, you might as well be dead" line), while I've been eagerly anticipating the return of Cat Lady Donna Mills and Joan Van Ark. Their appearance was gloriously crazy, with Christian as the "overcooked" suckling pig. Even loved the use of the same music from the Lulu Grandiron episode. The scene with Christian's father could have been longer, I wasn't really feeling that, though great job on the casting. Robert Davi could easily be Julian's father, plus they worked together years ago on Profiler, am I right?
Liz's subplot was a little "off". I really liked it at first, with Liz finally getting some action with somebody who wasn't a kidney thief (loved Christian's throwaway reference to that, by the way), and Lesley Fera was great in the part of Daniella, but the story fell apart at the end. It was sad to see Liz again disappointed and saddened, and I hope that Daniella comes back, because if she was meant as a one-episode guest star, the whole thing seems pretty pointless. And while I dig the show exploring late-in-life "coming out" (The L Word did a pretty good variation on that a couple of years ago), I can't see it working well with just two episodes left.
Also was a little uneasy about the "squirting" thing, as it seemed out-of-character for Liz to be so squicked out by it. Surely she must have encountered that at some point in her life, or at least you would have thought she'd be a little less judgmental about it. She came around in the end, but I didn't buy that she'd be so affected that she'd run to Christian and tell him all about it like teenage girls in a locker room.
The "death of plastic surgery" is an obvious way to go for the final season and, while (like a lot of things this season) it could have been dragged out more instead of just thrown into the second-to-last episode, it works for me. When you think about it, few people in the public eye at least are getting the full-Joan Rivers thing; most people are getting the fillers, the botox and the "injectables". It really is the end of the line for the face lifts etc.
Speaking of the end of the line, that preview at the end of the episode was freakin' intense. This show just couldn't end without that certain someone, who just represents the pinnacle of everything crazy Nip/Tuck has ever done. Two to go...

Episode Summary: | This was the Best episode of the season (a.k.a. the only good episode of the season). I've been extremely disappointed with season 7, so this episode greatly pleased me. except for one thing: ava wasn't evil enough. I wanted this season to go out with a bang and have ava do something evil and terrible and scandalous like she did back in season 2, but i guess that isn't going to happen. oh well. it was still a pretty good episode. ohh, there was another thing i didn't like. how julia is getting married (a popular theme this season..) and taking connor and annie to london away from sean. wow that's mean. i didn't like that at all but yeah... it was a pretty good episode. i have nothing else to say. ha-ha. tty next week |

Episode Summary: | This was a good episode. A good series finale. But it was definitely not how I would have ended it.
Things I didn't like:
1. Matt was pathetic. He convinced a woman that didn't love him to spend her life with him. How sad!
2. Julia left for London with Annie and Connor. I wanted Julia and Sean to somehow get back together. But that's me. A sucker for happy endings. One I did not get.
3. The last big surgery. On Hiro Yoshimura. What a joke. I wanted something cooler, not "repairing a seventy-something Japanese porn star's body." No... Oh, well.
4. That Sean left. I mean, part of me liked it, but I wanted him to stay. 5. That Liz is going to leave. I don't want her to go. I wanted her to stay forever, Sean to stay forever, and Christian to stay forever--which it looks like might. C'mon. McNamara/Troy/Cruz. Oh, yeah. That'd be awesome.. :-( But no.
6. That Ava gave up her baby because he wasn't perfect. Hands down, winner of the Mom of the Year Award, ladies and gents!! What a b!tch.
7. The lack of excitement. There was none.
8. Just... ugh. It should have been better. It was good. But it should have been better. Or it should have ended before they came to California. The Miami days were so much better. I miss the dear, sweet Carver.
Things I liked.. .. .. .
1. The final dinner. That was sweet. Although Matt was a punk and didn't go.
2. The ending. They pulled a 'Seinfeld,' you could say. The way it ended for Christian just like it began. With the 'Kimber'-like girl at the bar. "You're a doctor?" "Plastic surgeon." Oh, smooth.
3. That Ramona spat on Matt. High-five girl. He deserves it. Loser... . .
4. That Christian did something nice and gave Sean the plane tickets. It was sweet. Although I don't think it should have ended with Sean leaving, but I've already said that.
5. That the credits rolled. Should have ended a while ago, or at least gotten writers who could actually write for this seventh season. Last seasons are kind of important after all, I hear... jeez.
This whole season was a disappointment. It was terrible! Not going to sugar coat it. It sucked. The 99th episode was the only one worth watching, because Ava returned. And I guess this last one was because it was the last and 100th, but it wasn't... that... good. But it was. But it wasn't. I'm conflicted.
Oh, well. It's over. So for the last time on a Nip/Tuck episode, farewell. |
